My name is Xueqing Liu. I completed my Master degree of Architecture in the University of Southern California in 2018 and then began to work for an architecture firm named Verse Design. Now, after this period of experience, I am eagerly searching for another professional opportunities in Los Angeles. 

I’m from Beijing, China and got my five-year Bachelor Degree of Architecture from Beijing University of Technology in 2016. With in-depth study, faith-based understanding to architecture, I worked as an intern at Beijing Victory Star Architectural &Civil Engineering Design Co., Ltd. My prior duties have included but not limited to, being significantly involved in design discussions, creating presentation graphics, preparing construction documents and coordinating efforts between all of the trades involved in a variety of corporate, retail, residential and education buildings.

Compare to what I have learned in my undergraduate school, I found that the architecture design is not from the singular perspective of creating beautiful objects, , but from a philosophical perspective that actively incorporates structure, MEP system and even sustainable and urban design principles into architecture. That was why I longed for a further study on architecture.

The study and working experience in Los Angeles have provided me an initial insight to the architecture. During this time, I held a variety of roles on models and graphics, schematic plans and construction documents. I learned how to develop my understanding of project documentation requirements, and read and analyzed drawings thoroughly. Also, the considerable working experience taught me to treat architecture as a complex, in which every tiny change may cause a domino effect.

Becoming an architect has been a challenge. However, the struggles I faced through this journey has shown me my capacities to excel and achieve my goals successfully. I am a hard worker who have a passion for my career, a passion to learn and a desire to better myself. I believe my academic background and experience make me ready for this competitive environment.
