Vasanth is an Architect and Urban Designer from India currently based in New York. He works as a research intern at the International Well Building Institute (IWBI) in New York. He is involved with the standard development team supporting the building standard transition of WELL v1 to WELL v2, conducting principal research and analysis on building sciences and public health aspects. Further, he is also a volunteer urban designer for the 'Future Streets on Little West 12th Street' initiative in collaboration with the AIA Planning and Urban Design Committee, APA, ASLA, and NYC Department of Transportation.
Vasanth holds a professional Bachelor of Architecture Degree (B.Arch.) from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, and a post-professional degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University GSAPP. At GSAPP, he also received the William Kinne Fellows Traveling Prize for his project titled 'The Auroville Supremacy: A Spiritual Guide to the Future of Humankind' that investigates the experimental township's development over time and its impact on the local communities.
As a Registered Architect with professional work experience as a Junior BIM Architect in India, Vasanth exhibits technical and practical knowledge in design and construction. Further, he has participated in several Architecture Workshops in the US, UK, and India, with the ability to collaborate, lead, and adapt quickly in challenging multidisciplinary environments. His core competencies include resilience planning, community facilitation, water/environmental planning, zoning/land-use studies, data analysis, and preparing construction drawings and project reports. Finally, as a LEED Accredited Professional, he exhibits knowledge in energy-efficient building and sustainable infrastructure systems.
