My name is Victoria Carvajal, I am a final year student at Sci-Arc, and I graduated in May 2021.
I have been in architecture for the last eight years, and in those years, I have been able to learn and understand all the aspects of architectural design. At Sci-Arc, we have always been encouraged to use innovation and technology to solve design problems. In my design studio, under architect Dwayne Oyler, I explored the technical challenges of a 3D puzzle and how it can be applied to a building design. During my tectonics and materiality course, I was shown how to innovate facade structures to tackle complex, never seen design problems. Additionally, under Sci-Arc director Hernan Diaz-Alonso, I was encouraged to design through animation techniques.
I have traveled to different countries and understand the importance of religion and culture in architecture. This has given me the opportunity to enhance architecture through my technical knowledge while preserving its culture. I am also well versed in the building codes and regulations of countries.
My strong technical background combined with my out-of-the-box thinking makes me an ideal candidate for this role. I am passionate, driven, and always strive to go the extra mile. I am eager to kickstart my career and continue to innovate and grow in the discourse of design.
Best, Victoria Carvajal
