Kris Yao wins New Taipei City Museum of Art Design Competition

Kris Yao, Hon. FAIA (M. Arch ’78), the founder of KRIS YAO | ARTECH, is the winner of the New Taipei City Museum of Art Design Competition. Since 2008, New Taipei City Government has started planning for the New Taipei City Museum of Art, which envisioned a complex that integrated the arts and humanistic resources, intensifies the arts and humanistic resources network, combines the touristic resources as well as to increase the value and energy of tourism. This museum aims to build an important character for New Taipei City and to provide a platform for uprising artists and an excellent entertainment place for the visitors.
This competition attracted submissions from many renowned architects, both locally and internationally. The top six awarded projects will be exhibited at the lobby area of New Taipei City Hall starting from March 8th to 20th 2015. A following exhibition will be scheduled at Banqiao 435 Art Zone, New Taipei City starting from March 25th to April 22th 2015.
