LCA calculated homegrown scottish timber houses

Three different residential house types were designed to compare the calculations between material use and CO2 emission with each type.

The Large house has a focus on luxury and enough space and room to accommodate the more demanding family. It boasts of multiple spare rooms that can be used for home offices, playrooms or creative spaces for more artistic persons.

The Small house has the bare necessities for a 4 person family with a focus on the social aspect and the connection to nature through the large glass facade.

The townhouse has the same focus as the Small house, but the square meters are divided vertically instead of horizontal.

The calculation showed the homegrown Scottish timber has a lower CO2 impact than imported timber from mainland Europe and that the Townhouse has the lowest impact altogether both in total CO2 but also CO2 per square meter.
