In order to asses the needs of a site, one must document and take a credible snapshot of the existing conditions. It is imperative to locate and gather all information relative to those components that define, activate, generate, permeate and resonate space. This includes all factors of spatial, economic,
scalar and volumetric, historic, political, technologic, tectonic, cultural, social, phenomenological and environmental systems. Once the information is gathered, the next necessary task is to see the inter-relatinships of the divegent systems and how they are linked together into a matrix or into a series of matrices that define that environment.
