I am writing to express my interest in the Architect position with your company. I believe that my educational background coupled with my experience in the field make me a qualified candidate for this position.

I graduated with a degree in Architectural Engineering. Throughout my time in university I constantly explored alternative ways to approach projects and incorporate creative and sustainable ideas in my designs. During my coursework, I completed several designs that were set on display on my campus and awarded prizes.  My most humbling and inspiring moment was being awarded first place among all the architecture students for my capstone project, the design of a commercial center.  This achievement was a testament of my ability to innovate, not just design, which is a trait I constantly nurture in my professional career.  

I am currently working with a local firm, designing residential projects in Los Angeles and across California. My work involves developing concept designs and building 3D models, as well as preparing permit and construction sets of drawings.

Prior to moving to Los Angeles, I was based in Dubai pursuing my passion for cutting-edge, modern architecture. In the last four years, I have worked as an architect planning and designing a variety of residential projects. My duties and responsibilities ranged from developing concept design, coordinating with clients, design development, coordinating with working drawings and following up with municipality submissions. I am confident in my ability to see a design through from conception to construction, interacting with different departments and engaging with clients in the office and workers on construction sites. Along with my sketching abilities, I am proficient in using AutoCAD, 3D modeling softwares, Photoshop and Microsoft Office. In addition, my experience in Dubai over the course of these four years has given me a sound understanding and knowledge of zoning regulations, guidelines, and green building regulations. I was responsible for ensuring that green building rules are satisfied in all projects at my company. I hope in the future to do work that pushes the environmental frontier in the way we incorporate sustainability and eco-friendly spaces in design and infrastructure.

I am a fast learner and hard worker. I am proactive when it comes to starting projects and I make sure to perform my tasks in a highly organized and efficient manner. I am able to manage multiple tasks at a time under tight deadlines and deliver consistent, successful results. I work with a strong level of integrity and passion and my communication skills have helped to maintain strong relations with our clients and to build excellent working relationships within the office. I take responsibility for my tasks and assignments and make sure to oversee other components in the office that may directly or indirectly affect the work in my department.
