Sun Lee is an architectural designer and researcher with an interest in human activity’s relationship to the broader environment. His works range from architecture to product design and is informed by the belief that architecture, with an understanding of ecology, is capable of enriching everyday life.

Sun is also an Adjunct Associate at Columbia University’s Graduate School for Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP) where he teaches a design studio with Professor Michael Bell.  Sun is an alumnus of GSAPP, where he received a masters degree in Architecture.

2019 Fall, 2020 Spring
/ Taught for Advanced Architecture Studio V Everything Must Scale (2) Empathy and Energy, (3) Teacher-less School. Provided desk critics to the students on investigating how the transition in energy usage, automation on production are affecting the way of living by designing a truck stop and a micro-school.

/ Led workshops to deliver concepts of environmental and mechanical simulation programs ranging from Solidworks to grasshopper plug-ins Ladybug, Honeybee.

/ Participated in SD, DD phase of the design of a modular house. Produced presentation materials and developed details of the modular off-the-grid house using Rhino and VRay.

Jan 2020 - Apr 2020

Dattner Architects, New York, NY, US, Intern

/ Participated in the Feasibility Study and SD of a Public Aquatic Center at Staten Island. Produced drawings and models for presentations and a report using Autocad, Rhino, and Revit.

/ Developed healthcare projects on SD and CD. Produced drawings to optimize the layout of space and medical devices. Produced drawings for marketing usage.

/ Conducted urban research projects; collected and organized relevant data for the project, had meetings with the client (Seoul Metropolitan Government, Wan-ju County Office) to confirm the process of research

/ Developed architectural projects for public and commercial; developed and produced drawing from SD to DD phase using AutoCAD, produced rendering for client meeting using Rhinoceros
