As a member of CCNY Green, I actively managed the club's social media account, @Ccny.Green, by creating and curating content, engaging with followers, and implementing strategies to enhance online visibility. As a student attending CCNY, I engaged in deliveries on the side to finance the purchase of essential architecture supplies. I leveraged Relay's technology to undertake deliveries across New York City, utilizing my navigational skills to efficiently go through diverse neighborhoods. I relied on GPS and navigation tools to identify optimal routes and adapt to changing traffic conditions, ensuring timely deliveries.
Upon receiving delivery orders through Relay's platform, I reviewed and fulfilled them, picking up orders from restaurants and ensuring accurate packaging. Then I proceeded to deliver orders to customers' specified locations. I was able to financially support my education while gaining valuable experience navigating urban environments.
Navigating through New York City's complex urban environment required a keen understanding of spatial relationships and urban planning principles, deepening my appreciation for how cities are designed and organized. I developed a nuanced understanding of the built environment. Observing architectural styles, building materials, and urban contexts firsthand informed my architectural designs and enhanced my ability to conduct site analysis for future projects. School, the model shop stands as a hub of creativity and craftsmanship. Fully
equipped with an extensive array of hand and power tools, the shop offers students a comprehensive toolkit for working with various materials, including wood, plastic, and metal. Among the equipment available are table saws, bandsaws, and jigsaws, along with sanders and drills, facilitating precision and versatility in fabrication.
Central to the model shop's capabilities is state-of-the-art machinery, comprising four large-bed laser cutters and two CNC machines. Health and safety measures are prioritized throughout the shop. I had the privilege of contributing to the operational efficiency and safety of the model shop.
Collaborating with monitors and the shop director, I played a vital role in facilitating student access, ensuring safety protocols, and providing assistance as needed. BDCA’s Carpentry program provided students with comprehensive training in the construction industry, covering everything from blueprint interpretation to hands-on building techniques. Throughout the program, students acquire skills such as materials management, estimating, blueprint reading, and finish techniques. By graduation, students possess a solid basic understanding of carpentry fundamentals and invaluable hands-on experience, preparing them for success in the construction field.
Students would apply technical knowledge and skills to layout, fabricate, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures using both hand and power tools.
A highlight of the program is the annual Small House project, which integrates various Career and Technical Education programs at BDCA. This collaborative project allowed students to apply their skills in a real-world setting, further enhancing their practical knowledge and teamwork abilities.
This role as a Carpentry Instructor's Assistant provided me with firsthand experience in facilitating the learning process and supporting students in their journey to becoming skilled carpenters while attending the course and working to become one myself.

The New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA), also known as MTA New York City Transit, is a public authority responsible for operating public transportation services in New York City. As part of the facility maintenance team, my responsibilities encompassed a range of construction and maintenance tasks aimed at ensuring the safe and efficient operation of transit facilities.
My role involved constructing new rooms within the facility which accommodated for facility expansion and improvement initiatives. Additionally, conducted maintenance on pipe, replaced lighting fixtures, and painted walls to maintain a clean pleasing environment for staff and passengers.
Through these responsibilities, I played a vital role in supporting the NYCTA's mission to provide reliable and efficient public transportation services to the residents and visitors of New York City.
