In the summer of 2014, I lived in North Carolina, assisting with the design of my parents' new home. From interior layout to material and furniture selection, I was actively involved in the entire process. I received my certification that summer as an Aging in Place Specialist through the National Association of Home Builders, and used this knowledge to design my grandfather's half of the house to these standards.
