Approach
Sustainability
Despite ongoing discussions on its definition and meaning, sustainability is – above all else – a call to action and a bare necessity. Sustainability is not defined in government regulations nor attained with arbitrary labels but through architecture that strives to be responsible on social, economic, and environmental levels.
Optimised orientation and layout, new levels of compactness, advanced accessibility, sensible use of resources and materials, integrated knowledge of technical installations, lighting and other equipment: These are our focal points in responding to client needs and budgets. We aim to balance each of these points to save on both energy and resources.
Energy
Energy is more than an ever present resource. In physics, energy would be described as the scalar physical quantity that describes the amount of work that can be performed by a force. There is an architectural equivalent to this kind of energy: that which the process of building both requires and generates.
Our approach is built on what is called the “energetic triad”. This encompasses the reduction of energy consumption by avoiding excess and implementing energy-saving measures; the use of renewable sources of energy; and avoiding fossil fuels as a constant recourse and assuring that their eventual use remains as efficient and clean as possible. These goals are the foundation of our broader vision of energy in architecture, ultimately encompassing the world of its occupants, their movements, habits and lifestyles.
Technical precision
Skills, expertise and talent in the construction industry set the stage for a solid project. To meet the demand for practical solutions to sustainability and design, active research and development in construction technology is absolutely essential. Modern architecture must promote technical efficiency as a prerequisite for any project and take pride in it as a pillar of the profession.
A sound working method allows us to deliver high-quality architectural solutions that meet a project’s technical needs. Early incorporation of skilled engineers calibrates our design and construction plans. Custom detailing radically enhances insulation of the exterior envelope with the help of the latest developments in construction materials. Close attention to ventilation and air circulation further optimises performance. A rigorous and punctual follow-up with the contractor allows us increased control of the construction process.
