“Lamma” Youth Centre ; So that we never lose our power to magnificently grow!

Lamma لمة is an Arabic term which means “gathering”. As it uses such concept as its foundation, “Lamma” believes that retrieving the glory of the youth can be achieved by providing grounds that can contain their needs in a socially active environment. The youth centre is designed to house beneficial yet fun events, arrange training and educational programs, and grant the young the opportunity to interact with their peers and forge new bonds. It can be appropriately described as the gate through which the young can jump their way to the new world.

Situated on the Estiqlal highway in Sanad, “Lamma” dominates in the area declaring that all youth are welcomed. Users who experience “Lamma” as a space will notice that project introduces dynamic common spaces with variety of options which are highly connected with the adjacent activity and outdoor spaces. This kind of logical arrangement is intended to maintain security informally and to advertise for the available activities. The result would be: a loop of activities which allows for a notable exchange of skills and experiences. Furthermore, the project is concerned with the effect of outdoor spaces and therefore introduces the central open courts and provides several open-air gathering areas. Most importantly, “Lamma” is not only dynamic in function, but also in form, as it exploits slanted roofs, inclined walls, extended slabs and repetitive lively vertical frame elements to give an explosive unstoppable feel, an image that symbolizes youth.

“Lamma” Youth Centre is futuristic project which is expected to happily carry the weight of guiding the youth of the society on its shoulders. It will be the shield that will protect the fragile generation and the sword through which the bitter life can be fought. It is the right place for the young, to AGE!
