Sanjana Gopalakrishnan is an architectural designer from South India, selected as a member of the 2024 Future 100 cohort by METROPOLIS magazine.
She believes in designing spaces, moments, and experiences that fundamentally solve
more problems than they create. Though this design approach is seemingly simple in
concept and nature, her goal is to leave a place better than it was found.
Currently based in New York City, she holds a Master’s degree in Interior Design from
Parsons School of Design, and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from 2020.
Uli Wagner Design Lab, New York , NY, US, Interior Designer
- Developed design concepts and shop drawings for high-end retail clients in Soho, NYC complete with design documentation.
- Conceptualization and development of 3D visualizations and immersive client presentation.
- Independently worked on the complete list of furniture (FF&E) and materials selection and specifications in accordance to the sustainability requirements of Selfridges, London and drafted a full set of fabrication drawings as per the interior design strategies for the same.
STUDIO 1509, Chennai, IN, Intermediate Architect
- Worked autonomously with the Principal Architect and in the development of plans, sections and elevations of a 20 acre residential project in Hosur in accordance with municipal zoning by-laws.
- Prepared construction drawings for high end -residential renovation project and partnered with Lead Project Manager, contractors and team which was conceptualized and executed within a strict timeline of 81 days.

- Schematic design and development for new construction and renovation of various small scale residences.
- Oversaw the digital and physical modelling on a project site.
- Contributed to the processes of office administration, creation of promotional and marketing materials, website maintenance and social media marketing.

-Assisted with field dimensions, site observations and analysis.
-Provided coordination I layouts and specifications in collaboration with a Singapore based firm for the largest Amazon headquarters in India.

Metropolis FUTURE 100, Award
Each year, Metropolis magazine sets out to designate the top graduating architecture and interior design students in the United States and Canada. Nominated by their instructors and mentors, these 50 interior design and 50 architecture students were chosen by the Metropolis team.
