The design takes the subject of archaeological resources management in relation to the Ancient African kingdom of Kush, with specific attention to amenities and facilities needed to promote tourism at the northern region of Sudan. The Kush Kingdom has sustained many archaeological sites from different historical periods, which need integrated protection to guarantee the continuity of its cultural and economic importance, which can be used in tourism investment. There are also many natural resources which qualify to be tourism attractions.

The footprint related to the project have important archaeological sites and they had gained their importance for their historical, economic and political importance in medieval and post medieval period in Sudan. The site includes several important Christian and Islamic architecture examples such as churches, monasteries, palaces, houses, mosques, Khalwas and cemeteries.

The Kush trail is a virtual trail that connects the monuments related to the ancient African kingdom of Kush, that once existed. The Trail will be the new artistic hub where designers regenerate and reintroduce a new era of how history will affect our future. The idea began with identifying the monuments that can actually be introduced and linked through the Nile River. Thus, facilitating them with the utilities and activities a tourist can be interested in. Villagers will be encouraged to engage , construction, maintenance and profit from the arising tourism movement, in order to mitigate the sense of belonging and to create a sustainable economic viability in the region.
