About

I am a Filipina-American architect, installation artist and mover from both New Jersey and the Philippines. In my heart, the memories of the Philippines still accompany me. This feeling towards home and the sensations experienced during these moments have inspired ideas such as inward reflection, inclusivity and accessibility.

I believe that space has the silent ability to evoke our subconscious. In the form of public installation and large scale sculpture, my intention is to create atmospheres that bring forth a heightened awareness of self in relation to others and the cosmos. These moments inspire sensations such as reverence, awe and wonder. The most ultimate sense of this is found in nature. Our built environment should always aspire to it and adore it.

The purpose of these public installations are meant to be a place of refuge amongst the city, which at times can be overwhelming and chaotic. Public places to be in commune with one’s self and to just be should be accessible to our local communities.

Movement is a response to these spaces, whether built or a natural landscape. It is the essence of a place that brings up the same sensations of home that inspires my movements.
