Assistant Professor Whitney Moon joins the Department of Architecture. Her research interests reside in 20th and 21st century art and architecture, with an emphasis on theatricality, performance, and ephemeral works. She previously taught at the University of San Diego and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and is the principal of Famous Famous, a multidisciplinary research and design practice dedicated to art, architecture and contemporary culture.
Assistant Professor Nikole Bouchard comes to SARUP with extensive teaching experience at the University of Toronto and Cornell University. In addition to her academic career, she has practiced with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Steven Holl Architects, and Infranet Lab. Her research investigates issues of landscape and infrastructure.
The 2014-2015 SARUP Research Fellow is Antonio Furgiuele. His work investigates the histories and theories of the architecture of data. His project for the research fellowship is titled “Architectures of the Cloud”; it investigates the secretive architecture typologies of data centers that facilitate cloud computing and the way in which they maintain and propel the latest phase of the Information Age.
