The Red Sea is considered to have one of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world. My project is about diving underwater viewing the coral and the aquatic animals. In the process the player may be looking for a treasure.
The coral reef will have a realistic art style utilizing the models of the coral, seaweed, fish, etc. to beautify the place. Also there will be animated light effects to give the illusion of the water moving.
A color palette of green, red, orange, purple, pink and mainly blue throughout the environment. The ground will be orange sand but the lights casted on it with the shades may change the color to blue or green. The beautiful colors of the coral will complement the environment. Also there will be fish of different colors swimming randomly in the environment.
As the player sinks to the bottom of the reef, he/she will be able to walk around and look at the rocks, the corals, seaweed and a shipwreck. The contrast of the lights casting on the models will bring a feeling of calmness and peace.
The terrains will vary from one another, some will be big and some are going to be the same level of the character. There will be rough and smooth to demonstrate the organic surfaces of the reef.
To promote the sense of awe and wonder, scaled will be utilized heavily in the terrain elements, and key focal points of the exploration areas may be the shipwreck. While the entire ocean will not be explorable, use of background through the fog effect and shaders.
I will try to use animated objects such as fish, seaweed and coral, as well as the shaders to make the environment live. Also I will try to learn to embed the sound of the ocean and bubbles.
