Working on the evolutiveness of heritage to invent new projects for new ways of life.
Urban and architectural heritage is making up the majority of our building environment in urban and peri-urban areas. This heritage is the landscape of our cities. Yet, a major part of these buildings is not adapted to the demands of contemporary life : there are not accessible to disabled persons, environmental standards are not met, the building quality is sometimes really poor (etc).
How do we transform this heritage into something new in order to give it new life ? How can we maintain its value while giving it a new use ?
Our department Building with what exists is answering those stakes with a custom-made approach for each project mixing traditional know-how and contemporary high technologies. We are designing an evolving and constantly changing heritage. The answer lies both in the respect and valuation of ancestral know-how and in the design of spaces that optimize the potentials of a site, a building.
Rehabilitation, renovation, restoration but also innovative materials are all tools for the production of a contemporary project.
