Robert Allison

New York, NY, US

I was born in Berkeley, California and moved to New York City in 2004 for high school.  The designed world around me was always my greatest interest, and I knew very early in high school that architecture school was what I wanted to do.  Attending the University of Miami School of Architecture gave me two years of hand drawing and technical drafting experience that gave me a strong skill set before I made the jump to the world of Cad and BIM software.

In the fall of 2012 I had the opportunity to study abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark and explore my passion for nordic design. It was an amazing experience and was a great compliment to the education I received at the Universtiy of Miami.  Having graduated in May of 2013, I am currently in New York City seeking full time employment.

Joseph Vance Architects, Brooklyn, NY, US, Junior Designer / Project Manager

Hired as a junior designer to support in 3D modeling for multiple projects in various stages in design. Role was expanded to include management of multiple DOB and LPC filings, preparing client presentations, and managing various office administrative duties. Gained extensive experience working on construction documents for multiple projects, performed code research and attended job-site meetings of projects under construction to observe and take meeting minutes. Shortly following a successful one-year review, due to senior staff leaving the firm, was promoted to project manager of a high-end full renovation of a 4-story townhouse in Chelsea. Performed full construction administration for that and two other projects that started afterwards. Spent time coordinating with clients, contractors, consulting engineers, expediters, and members of the DOB, LPC, and HPD.
