Greetings, my name is Ritika Narang, and I am currently in my final semester of pursuing a Master’s in Urban Design at Carnegie Mellon University. My expected graduation date is May 2023, and I am looking for full-time work opportunities starting from June/July 2023. Additionally, I am working on my year-long thesis, titled “Empowering Informal Settlements for Social Inclusion and Urban Integration in Mumbai City.”
• My areas of interest include mobility and transportation, affordable
housing, revitalization of spaces, neighborhood design and planning, placemaking, and architectural design.
• I believe that community engagement, when supported by data
analytics and mining, has the power to create greater equity in society.
• As an Urban Designer, my role is to understand the unique perspectives, values, and roots of the site context and develop solutions based on the lived experiences of the community.
• I am a proponent of access to resources over ownership and advocate for sustainable modes of transportation. My goal is to design cities that move away from dependence on automobiles, placing the human dimension at the forefront and prioritizing the mental and physical well-being of the citizens.
