As landscape architects based in Los Angeles, a metropolis with no singular center, we have come to champion the assemblage of granular urban landscapes. These are spaces in between, connecting transit, street, work, home, and recreation. Our designs turn messy middles into vibrant, verdant spaces that lift communities and resolve incongruent uses. Our ethos is simple—capture the wonder in between. Public realms and public life are inextricably linked regardless of geography, typology, and climate; our studio looks to create compelling landscapes that knit cities together and drive public life, our measure of a great place.

RELM staff is formally trained in architecture, landscape architecture, integrative biology, and urban design. With a diverse portfolio spanning mixed-use, office, education, institutional, and parks, we ground each commission in urban principles: mobility, density, social and environmental benefit. We aim to synergistically harness design as a transformative force of both site and city.
