About

An architect, a maker and an environmentalist, on a mission, to erect quality space that enriches day to day lives of people—having delivered commercial, residential and research projects. I believe collaboration and teamwork is the key to bring a building of quality to life. I aim to design buildings that with time appear as if it was part of the environment. I believe architecture has the power to harmonise the natural and human-made environment. It is an integral part of our lives and radically dictates how we live.
I have a strong inclination towards exploration and interested in the entire building process (from concept to construction). I consider myself as a team player with excellent communication skill, practical understanding, creative flair and technical skills.

Elsewhere:

Employment

Median Design, Mumbai, IN, Research Assistant

Under the apprenticeship of Tejas Sidnal (Director of AA Visiting School, India).
We investigated how we could resolve the global air pollution within the infrastructure and create innovative solutions to combat climate change.
The ambition of the research was to develop a facade system that sucks polluted air and extracts the carbon releasing pollution-free air indoor.

Responsibilities:
* Research on ways to capture carbon particles.
* Prototyping the designs.
* Documentation of daily progress.

Al-Saqf Engineering Consultancy, Salalah, OM, Architectural Assistant

At Al-Saqf consultancy, I was involved in various design projects both in the office and on-site. I was working closely with architects, engineers and project managers as well as meeting clients when required.

A usual day in the office would turn out handling the following tasks:

* Hand sketching, 3D modelling and detailing technical plans using (BIM) software.
* Designing plans, following building laws and safety regulations.
* Finding cost-effective ways to work within budgets.
* Choosing or advising on materials.
* Visiting sites to check building work and progress.
* Communicating and sharing ideas with clients, other architects, engineers and workers.

Education

Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA), London, GB, MArch, Design and Make

Architectural engineering and Making of a 1:1 scale Pavilion, to showcase the research done in Thesis.
We designed and made the Free Form Steam Bending pavilion. It is the result of a body material research and experimentation executed by Omar Eqbal, Hassan Danish, Luis Gill, Raza Kazim.
The primary driver of the design process combines the traditional method of steam bending with computational fabrication technique to design a parametric structure with inherent structural and manipulable potentials of timber.
