Hi, my name is Na Shen. I am a Korean Chinese who can speak both Korean and Mandarin natively. I also have a diverse background in my education and work experiences.
My diverse background includes a Master of Architecture degree from UCLA, a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Seoul National University, and experience as both an architect and a landscape architect. I am a multi-disciplinary architect with a profound interest in sustainable design. My approach revolves around integrating architecture and landscape to create spaces that evoke human emotions and memories while championing environmental responsibility. I possess a solid grasp of designing with sustainability in mind by leveraging my LEED GA and LEED AP Building Design+Construction certifications. I am on the path to Architectural Registration. I completed AXP hours on programming & Analysis, Project Planning & Design, and filling up other categories.
During my over 3 years of practical experience at esteemed firms like RIOS, Zaha Hadid Architects, Ateliers Jean Nouvel, AECOM, and Hassell, I actively participated in projects at all phases, ranging from competitions and concept development to construction documentation, across cultural, residential, and urban design projects. In addition to having experience in various project types, I have experience collaborating with international design teams and consultants honed my ability to adapt quickly to different workflows. My proficiency in Revit, BIM360, Rhino, Enscape, Grasshopper, and Adobe Suites enables me to produce high-quality graphic documents that complement the projects. My skills include planning, design coordination, and problem-solving, supported by a passion for regenerative design. I am eager to work on innovative projects, collaborate with senior designers and continuously develop my abilities. Managing my workload efficiently, I am committed to meeting deadlines while delivering exceptional results.
In my final year at UCLA, I honed the storytelling side of my craft by utilizing Unreal Engine and Cinema 4D to make short films. To me, architecture is a narrative that shapes the future of our surroundings. I’m a believer in continual self-improvement. In my mind, AI will play a key role in the creative process of future architects and designers. I have explored the possibilities of using Midjourney and Stable Diffusion in architectural design, and I am currently diving into ChatGPT’s capabilities for writing Python code in Grasshopper.
Thank you!
