My name is Moxuanzi May Xu. I graduated from Pratt Institute with a BFA in Interior Design degree, and am currently completing my Master of Architecture degree at Pratt Institute.
With a solid and far-reaching foundation in architecture and design, my background has prepared me to excel as an architect. I believe that design is a powerful tool, an intriguing opportunity to create positive change that develops from our originalities and perspectives. We have the potential to create parallels between the imagination and the world in which we live, by formulating our own unique creations influenced by our experiences, curiosities, and ambition for innovation.
I handled various responsibilities in my previous Junior Designer position and quickly established talents in prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and finding solutions to eliminate obstacles. My working experience and education have enabled me to develop and demonstrate many vital skills. Producing detailed, sophisticated design and construction drawings for review by instructors, peers, architects, structural engineers, and clients; creating presentations to showcase design ideas and solicit feedback. I have also developed a strong interest in communicating design ideas through physical model building and hand drawing/sketching.
My resume and portfolio are attached to further outline my qualifications and professional experience. If you would like to reach out for any job opportunity or collaboration please feel free to contact me by phone at (917) 302-6927, or by e-mail at mxux3@pratt.edu.

With such fascination with the built environment and its inhabitants, Interior Architecture was the natural first step for me. In my four years of academic study in Interior Design at Pratt Institute, I have focused on blending art and science to create, restore, readapt and redefine the spaces we inhabit within the built environment. The program has transformed my instinctive excitement and imagination about interior architecture into systematic knowledge and comprehensive understanding. In furthering my knowledge, my ongoing study of structure, construction, materials science, and meaning made me realize that architecture gives importance to aesthetics and is more integral to technology, invention, and culture in both its response and propositions.
With a passion to learn how science and technology can be used to enhance the social and environmental efficiency of structures, I am more assured than ever that I want to continue to expand upon my education in Architecture. The dichotomy of my character has indeed been brought out through architecture, enabling me to experiment both creatively and scientifically with the visual and technical facets of nature that aspires to address the foals of the current culture but also the needs of the future.
