I am a recent graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology where I received a degree of Master of Architecture.
My education has honed my skills in drafting, 3D modeling, sustainable practices and conceptual design in every scale of architecture from urban planning, building design, landscape design, interior architecture and furniture design. This holistic understanding has prepared me to be well equipped to seamlessly transition into the many project types in a collaborative architectural environment.
My past employment has provided me with the necessary experiences to work within the field and make decisions effectively. As a project leader, I controlled the entire project from design to construction as well as managed the budget and scheduling with all the parties included. As a furniture designer, I learned the nuance of materials, proportion and assembly. As an architectural interiors intern, I was in charge of drafting construction documents and 3D modeling. While working on high-rise hotel and office buildings I prepared architectural presentation drawings which included interior layout drafting and explanation graphics.
Architecture is my passion. I care deeply about personal interpretation in space as well as concept design and translation. My favorite part of design is the problem. Problems create questions and questions define solutions. A designer is equipped with their experiences to define and translate their solutions. I found that being well versed in different environments has fine tuned my attention to detail and my ability to acknowledge architectural voids and their significance.
Environment is something that I consume myself in. During a study abroad in Barcelona, I traveled to many environments using my experiences and senses to understand materiality and the organization within the culture. Through this embrace, holistic tendencies became more apparent and design problems more prevalent. This exposure into the culture was also recently supplemented by living in the French Canadian province of Montreal for the last two years. These experiences helped me to understand the subtle differences each culture has and how to consider the differences when defining solutions.
I look forward to applying my unique experiences to contribute to the conceptual design, spatial transitions, materials and culture that architecture is asked to influence.
