Micha is a graduate architect from Melbourne, Australia. She is now living in New York and has come to the United States on a J1 visa which fully entitles her to work in the USA until December 2016 with the option to extend her visa.
She has previously worked at Plus Architecture- an international architecture firm that targets multi-residential, master-planned, commercial, aged care and mixed use developments. She has had experience in all stages of architecture from sketch design through to contract administration. She also has experience in Interior Design- taking on the role of interior design advisor for five aged care facilities across Victoria and New South Wales.

Before that she worked for 2 years at here studio: a small firm based in Melbourne and Ballarat, specialising in participatory design. As an architectural graduate she was given greater responsibility in projects and had the opportunity to run and manage a project for a small house renovation and extension on a tight budget. This project was one of the first that allowed Micha to develop skills specific to architecture such as: client liaison, town planning, budgeting, documentation and consultant engagement.
Micha completed a Bachelor of Environmental Design at the University of Western Australia from 2009-2011. In 2011 she traveled to Milan, Italy as an exchange student at the Politecnico di Milano. Upon returning to Australia, Micha worked in a small residential architecture firm, Mountford Architects in Perth. She then moved to Melbourne in 2013 to complete her Masters of Architecture.
Micha is passionate about considered design. She enjoys the thrill of informing how a building responds to and interacts with its immediate and proposed context. She has had experience across many different levels of architectural practice and various project budgets and sizes. She is sociable, enthusiastic and a keen learner.
Micha is also interested in photography, fashion and writing. She has contributed to upcoming publications of White Lies magazine (Berlin, Germany) and Akute magazine (Perth, Australia)
Plus Architecture, Melbourne, AU, Graduate Architect
Micha joined the Plus Architecture team as the head consultant for interior design for the renovation of several retirement villages across Australia.She then worked on the sketch design team for an apartment building in an inner city suburb of Melbourne and assisted in preparing documents for its town planning application including 3D visualizations. She then worked on the sketch design for a large multi use development next to a train station in a residential suburb in Melbourne in which she worked with developers, local council, the minister for transport and other consultants. Micha was not limited to architectural work whilst at Plus. She worked on the interior design team for several projects as well as working directly under director, Ian Briggs, to write the urban design guidelines for an Industrial Business Park in the outskirts of Melbourne. Her experience at Plus exposed her to all stages of architecture and allowed her to develop skills in design, documentation, 3D visualization,client & supplier liaison, efficiency, communication and the ability to hop onto projects at any stage.

After graduating from her Masters of Architecture at Melbourne University, Micha continued to work at Here Studio as an architectural graduate. She was given the extra responsibility of being in charge of a small residential renovation. She was also part of the core team of the Ballarat Civic Hall Open Door Studio- a community-participatory design, local-council funded project for the renovation of the State of Victoria's second largest regional city's community hall which was dormant for over 15 years.

Micha worked part time during her studies as an architectural assistant for the small firm, Here Studio, specialising in participatory design. She worked directly with the directors to produce architectural drawings as well as conduct community consultation to advise local council and inform well-considered design.She also assisted in organising events such as Pecha Kucha nights in Melbourne.
