Situated at the apex of a spine that cuts through Playa Vista linking industry to commerce, the masterplan plays with the interstitial nature between this axis, and the public realm. By instigating a public plinth across the field, a distinction is made between the private production studio facilities in coordination with the historical airplane hangar, and an imposed public programmatic element. The public element, a series of arrayed theater type spaces, is dropped onto the plinth, causing the ground to react under its influence. The industrial parkscape created is transformed into a retail zone, with capabilities of housing conventions as needed by the industry.
