To whom it may concern,

Welcome to my profile. I am a graduate of Prairie View A&M University with a Bachelor's in Architecture and a minor in Construction Science.

I am proficient in AutoCAD , SketchUp 8, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Revit, Lumion, SU Podium Vray. I have general knowledge of VectorWorks, ArchiCAD, Rhino / Grasshopper and SolidWorks. I also happen to be proficient in Mac interface. If I'm not proficient in a field, I endeavor myself to learn it and better myself as a student and a role model to my fellow classmates, coworkers and friends.

During my freshman year of high school, I enrolled in an engineering-based class on which we used a program to design bridges. Afterwards, we built the bridges out of balsa wood and wood glue with structural supports. During my sophomore year, I was able to take the following engineering class on which I was introduced to AutoCAD. I was really captivated by the use of a computer to design what I had on my mind in 2D and 3D features. For the final, I designed my house in AutoCAD. After my professor reviewed my project, he told me I had the potential to be an architect since I had a good sense of perception, material understanding, and very dedicated research and detail skills. Until that point, I had no idea that architectural courses were available at my high school. At the beginning of my junior year, I enrolled in an architecture class, taught by a Mr. Cody Arkadie, a PVAMU alumni, who was able to help me familiarize better with AutoCAD and introduced me to Google SketchUp. I continued the course into "Advanced Architectural Design".

Unfortunately, Mr. Arkadie was given the opportunity to work at a prestigious firm in Orlando, Florida and he went in that direction. Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, Engineers and Planners were lucky enough to be able to attract the attention and time of such an amazing role model. He was my inspiration to pursuit architecture studies at Prairie View A&M University. To this day, I still keep contact with Arkadie, catching up with him every time he comes in town. He continues to be a role model and a mentor, providing guidance and advice whenever I need it.

Furthermore, a Mr. Raymond Steath, also a PVAMU alumni, taught the continuation of the course. His course, however, focused more on emphasizing the use of AutoCAD in which I  was introduced to the use of layers, line weights, plotting and 3D modeling. He focused more on learning and understanding the interface of AutoCAD to its full extent. He gave us projects that were extensive in detail that set the standard for our computer aided design work.

I enjoy the process of taking a conceptual idea and making it into a developed project with proper function, budget, structure and form. I believe that every building contains its  own unique purpose, regardless of the design.
