Of the 24 years I've lived, half of them have been underscored by a passion for architecture. Upon seeing Fallingwater at the age of thirteen, I knew that is what I wanted to do. I spent years conceptualizing houses, tall buildings, and urban conditions, focusing my interests, and progressing eventually to becoming a student at Syracuse University School of Architecture, one of the premiere programs on the planet.
My five years at Syracuse Architecture have given refined skill to my initial passion for Architecture, a passion I have had for eleven years. I have a keen eye for design, specifically for choosing what form, space, material, and representation provide the best solution to a design problem presented. I am able to think critically and creatively, considering all possible options in order to arrive at a set of well-informed decisions. For this process, I use hand drawing and modeling, then the computer programs necessary to realize my design, specifically Rhino, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and the Adobe Suite. In terms of process, I value the group approach, gladly taking on whatever role suits the team best. Working in a group requires strong communication, which is a skill I bring to the table as an asset to success. In terms of design, I value the rhetoric of a building, considering how it speaks to and then engages the public. I also understand the importance of rhetoric in written communication and presentations. I consider myself a skilled writer, and I wish to bring that to the office, however it may be of help.
I look forward to applying the skills I've refined, and fulfill the passion for architecture I've now for twelve years.
