A NEW EXHIBITION GALLERY FOR SPACE SHUTTLE ENDEAVOUR
The gallery is adjacent to California Science Museum at LA Expo Park. To showcase the space shuttle in its lunch configuration with a height of 200ft, its impact to the Expo park and its unique contexts is unprecedented, challenging
us to rethink how to inspire science learning in everyone as well as the relationship between high tech and urbanism in Los Angeles. The ambiguity of the walls and ceiling is a key property of the shell, creating space with minimum interfere with exhibits. To maximize the viewing perspectives of space shuttle, observation decks are allocated to all different orientation and height of the interior space. It’s a complex project with over 25,000 sq ft program areas, accompanying with 4 other associated exhibitions.
