I am currently studying in the Master of Architecture program at Georgia Institute of Technology. My fall semester project aimed to counterbalance this developing trend in US cities of generic consumer urbanity, towards the design of a place that promotes contemplation and excites the senses. Through this project I was able to create a highly experiential space which emphasizes the elemental and visceral. Also, I learned new modes of visualizations like oblique sectional drawings and using specific color palettes. These graphic improvements and a keen eye for composition helped me win the portfolio competition at Georgia Tech.
As a Junior Architect at Kalayojan Architects, I was part of the structural design and coordination team for a dynamic shell structure- 'International Worship Center, Nigeria'(currently in foundation stage). The construction team composed of Nigerian government as the client, German Contractor, Indian structural engineers and architects along with consultants from Bangladesh working together to make a church in Nigeria.
My role as a junior architect involved communicating with multiple teams of engineers and consultants working on the design and structure of the external shell façade; and then implementing the same on a computer aided 3d-modelling software-Rhinoceros 3D and Autodesk Revit for clash check and detail construction drawings. This has further improved my communication skills in the professional realm and led to an understanding of the teamwork of architects and consultants
