About

Hello! My name is Khadija Ibrahim. I am a first-generation Somali-American, born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. I have a passion for art, architecture, and social justice. I chose architecture as a career because I believe that architecture and urban planning quite literally “define” the world that we live in, and how we interact with the people in the built environment. Our environment and interactions with space shape the way that we think about ourselves and the world around us. I believe that as architects we play a major role in the creation of the built environment and should help to create a more equitable environment for all people. In my studies, I love to look at how cities were created by analyzing the past, present, and future possibilities of a site. In many of my projects, I have approached through a historical lens to help celebrate the history of the site, as well as, make informed design solutions that are adaptable to the future climate conditions. I have worked internships with the Boston Housing Authority as well in the Transportation Department in NYPD under a civil engineer. I am seeking to build on the skills I have gained in the classroom in the real world through unique opportunities.
