A visitor's center is intended to be a part of a nature trail leading to and from the a wolf sanctuary at the top of steeply wooded hill. The building will help to shape the experience of leaving behind the world we know and discovering a world that is unknown to us but plays a vital role in the balance of our ecosystem. In this way the building is part of the trail and not just an object along the trail. It is inspired by the dual identities of the wolf: at once highly visible and proud, and yet also stealthy and secluded.
