With population growth and absence of free lands, building multistory buildings are inevitable. However, multistory buildings don’t have certain elements and characteristics of private houses and this sense of belonging to this spaces has been lost over time. It got me thinking that, how can I implement multistory buildings without sacrificing the same elements and characteristics found in certain private homes. In order to make this happen I started looking into the essence of architecture in traditional Iranian homes and archetypes such as Special entrances, private backyards, Flexibility, frontage, hierarchical etc. and redefining them to design this building complex.
