My name is Karen Kuo. I am graduating from Rhode Island School of Design with a Masters in Architecture. After graduating from college in Taiwan, I worked at an architecture firm as a project designer for a year. During my tenure at None to Ten Architects, I worked on various Residential and Institution Design Projects, Interior Projects as well as gained some experience of supervising construction.
During my graduate education in RISD, I have been exploring geometric forms consisting of points, lines and surfaces that form spaces while thinking about the relationships between users' experience and spaces while using drawings and models to reinterpret the concept and ideas of these spaces.
During my thesis research, I was interested in the relationship between user psychology and built environments, for example nudge theory. I was also interested in the use of colors and drawings to represent the concept of how architectural spaces can change human behavior. I believe I will keep researching this topic and practice on different kinds of projects in the future.
Thank you,
Karen
