Dear Hiring Manager;

I recently earned a Master of Architecture from Columbia University. I’m writing to explore the possibility of securing employment with Macro Sea.

A highly motivated architect with expertise in schematic design, I have particular interest in museum and cultural center design. It is my passionate belief that the flow in museums should reflect an artist’s intention and interact with people in the space. As an artist, several of my art exhibitions included on my resume helped me to appreciate the importance of space. Also, I experimented with various schemes of circulation, dictated by the geometrical and directional nature of space and route, thus reinventing a new flow and space.

I have a proficiency in Revit, Auto CAD, Maya, Sketch-up, Rhino, Arc GIS, Adobe, Microsoft office and other graphic skills. Additionally, my internship at Hee-Rim Architects allowed me to understand the significance of practical execution and enabled me to prioritize and complete projects within strict deadlines. Also, through internship experience at Yuhan-Kimberly, I was able to have an understanding of greenhouse construction design and its various conditions to be maintained.

My background of associating art and architecture also motivated me to shape my design ideas. Doing both art and architecture gives me a lot of inspiration. I held several painting and architecture exhibitions both in New York and Korea. In this way, I am able to participate in the research and exhibit understanding of the design philosophy of the projects.

I welcome the opportunity to begin my career with a firm that can benefit from my strength in handling diverse junior architect responsibilities while communicating effectively with senior and intermediate architects and fellow staff members at all levels. My professors, Yehuda Safran  and Jorge Otero-Pailos both strongly recommended that I contact you regarding a junior architect opportunity. I look forward to hearing from you and will make the time available for an interview at your earliest convenience.
