South African born Industrial Designer living in Los Angeles currently.

Matter Made, Brooklyn, NY, US, Lead Lighting Designer

• Managed and designed several new lighting and furniture products from concept ideation, prototyping, and sample development through to the final design implementation and production. A number of these products, including the Arca, have been featured in prestigious design events (e.g. Salone del Mobile) and publications (e.g. Dezeen) and have generated significant sales for the company.
• Executed large-scale projects efficiently and strategically to fulfill our clients’ requirements within tight deadlines while advancing our brand aesthetic and adhering to international safety standards. For example, I took over the reins of a $500K custom fixture project for a high-end hotel in Saudi Arabia, and adjusted the scope and design, reducing our production costs in half, meeting our deadline, and satisfying the customer’s needs.
• Worked closely with our CEO, esteemed international design teams, and third party vendors to bring various concepts to life by refining designs, optimizing engineering, and implementing innovative manufacturing processes.
• Managed and mentored design staff members.
