My Name is Joseph but my friends and family call me Joe or Joey.  I was born and raised in New York and have lived in California for 6 years.  I am currently in my second year at Santa Monica College and in my third studio class. I am also Part of the NOMAS club here at SMC as well as sit on the board as the Treasurer.  I work full-time as a retail sales associate and do my best to support the local community where I live.

I really enjoy eating good food and spending quality time with friends and loved ones.  Growing up I played many sports but probably enjoyed board sports the most, so I still love to snowboard in the winter.  I am also a practicing Buddhist, and I believe in living your absolute best life. 

My short-term goal is to be able to put together a solid portfolio and to use it to transfer and land a job where I can work while going to school.  I want to graduate from SMC and continue to another school in California or New York. Also in my life outside of school, I am looking forward to getting married early next year to my wonderful fiancé.

For my long term goal, I feel like this is continually evolving.  I believe that as individuals we are constantly changing and growing.  So from that perspective, I would like to continue to develop myself into someone that I and my mentors can be proud of.  As far as in architecture, I would like to be involved in and learn more about adaptive reuse projects and the way that we construct buildings in the future. I believe that many structures are torn down by us long before the life of the building is actually over and I would like to preserve the materials to help make our planet more sustainable.
