Born of Cuban émigre parents, I grew up in mostly in Miami, Florida where I was born. After living in Sweetwater, Miami for about a year my parents and I moved up to New York so my dad could do his medical residency. We lived in Flatlands, Brooklyn for a short time then moved upstate to Amsterdam, a town not far from Albany. Living in New York for an approximate seven years, we moved down to Miami, Florida again after my brother,Michael, was born. The majority of my adolescence was spent in Miami though were I went to a great design school and made many great friends. After graduating the Design and Architecture Senior High, I went to the Rhode Island School of Design to continue studying Industrial Design. After four years of mind-expansion and late-night studio sessions, I graduated. I gave the speech at my graduation, and I moved to New York. I started out as a junior designer and graphics liaison at a growing Manhattan architecture firm Meridian Design Associates. After Meridian Design, I did work for a few carpentry + cabinetry shops in New York in order to indulge my handicraft. Then I went to work at Thinc Design. Thinc is an exhibition design firm in the West Village that at the time was focused on designing the exhibitions of the National September 11th memorial museum at Ground Zero in New York. I was working there when Lehman Brothers went under as did the rest of the American economy so I was downsized along with a few other designers at the firm. Since then, I've been working as a draftsman working on telecommunications data drawings for the new Giants Stadium going up in the meadowlands just outside of New York City. Most of the work mentioned thus far can be found at JethroRebollar.com. Feel free to send me a message.
