For designer Jerri Hobdy, her niche skill set knows no boundaries. Acquiring formal training in Furniture Design from renowned arts and design university, SCAD, Hobdy has since designed products for influential industry brands including Currey and Company, Arteriors, and Resource Decor. The most prolific design relationship in her dense five year career was her chapter as in-house designer with global women’s lifestyle brand and retailer Anthropologie.
Her extensive portfolio of unique furniture has been featured in Dwell Magazine, Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, The Huffington Post, as well as other distinguished design publications.
Hobdy’s signature piece of furniture, the Elowen Dining Chair for Anthropologie, “was the design that really started it all” recalls Hobdy. She found early success in catering to the female customer and has expanded her art form to develop collections accessible to many other consumers. Channeling a chameleon-like design ability, Hobdy is known for her skill at tailoring designs to meet brand-specific needs while maintaining a connection with the female consumer.
In 2017, Hobdy struck out on her own launching a bespoke collection of artisan-made brass occasional furniture and lighting with partner CK Thomas & Sons. She also established a mix of industry clients in furnishings wholesale and retail with whom she collaborates to design own-brand upholstery, case goods, lighting and outdoor furniture.
Jerri Hobdy lives and works in Denver, Colorado and is currently laying the groundwork for Meno Home Studios, her brick-and-mortar bespoke furniture design studio, expected in 2019.
