Project Description
This 240-square-meter penthouse apartment is located in Shanghai, Pudong, Zhangjiang. The owner bought two floors of flats and combined them into a single penthouse.
The designer used a "vertical extension and horizontal expansion" concept to create a sophisticated and minimalist space.
The staircase is made of white marble with a flowing, layered design. It is both functional and elegant, and it helps to create a smooth flow of movement throughout the space.
The space is divided into balanced zones, and the use of different materials, colors, and textures creates a sense of openness.
The space under the staircase is converted into a functional and stylish kitchenette. It meets the everyday needs of the residents, such as making breakfast and washing fruits.
The daughter's bedroom is cozy and comfortable, providing a space for her to relax and unwind.
The living room on the second floor is designed as an open-plan family library, which enriches the functionality of the penthouse. As lifestyles become more diverse, the "family library" reflects the independent and free lifestyle of modern people.
The transparent windows let in natural light, creating a sense of purity.
Two entrance areas, the southwest terrace, and the north and south balconies are expanded into the interior space to meet the needs of the residents. This also maximizes the use of natural light and creates more activity areas.
Built-in storage space is designed in the entrance corners, windowsills, and staircase area to increase storage space. A wet bar and separate laundry room are also added to provide a more casual and relaxed home environment.
