Born in Venezuela, Jose Gonzalez is an international student at the University of South Florida earning his Masters in Architecture. Gonzalez moved to United States in 2009, and for him that was the starting point for his creative journey. As most people he enjoys traveling to new places and photographing his adventures, but along the way his architecture eye help him to develop a different way to see things. Jose specializes in portrait photography and started JAGZPHOTOS in 2015, as eminent need to express his creative mind. He is currently based in Tampa, Florida.

As a Graduate Assistant, my responsibilities were several. I was responsible of creating of all graphic material within the school of architecture from posters, invitations, maps, and several other projects. I was also in charge of the creation of the Archvox Publication (a student based publication at the architecture school, see more in my website), the preparation of the NAAB accreditation exhibition and material, and several events related to the AIAS USF chapter. At the same time, I was part of the team in charge of the lectures series events for the school of architecture. I was in charge of overlook the 3D lab, and teach students how to manage and work with 3D printing and the programs. For a while, I was also an assistant for the computer lab for the architecture building, working with checking and assisting student with printing and over questions.
Gensler, Chicago, IL, US, Bran Designer / Graphic Designer / Environmental Graphics Designer
-Created representational renderings of different projects, both interior and exterior. Assisted with the production of construction drawings for environmental graphics and way-finding, also created and finalize several design intent documents. Drafted several design concept proposals for both commercial and private projects, prepared presentations and made subsequent adjustment based on client and team feedback.
-Assisted with the creation of virtual reality (VR) experiences as well as walk-through and renders for architecture and design purposes.
-Assisted with the creation of brand identities packages for a series of companies and the translation of those elements into the architecture environment.
-Photographed final installation of several projects, to detail the work done in the elements dedicated to way-finding and environmental graphics. Also, helped to document and curate several events hosted by Gensler Chicago both inside and outside the office.
-Collaborated with different studios, organizations, and members of the community to enhance the impact of architecture in the different neighbors around the city.

For several semester I was the lead teacher assistant for the class of Intro to architecture and Intro to Design 1 and 2. My responsibilities varied according to the class and the amount of students. Intro to Architecture I help to manage a total of 60-80 students per semester, helping the instructor with grading the students assignments and discussions, also helping and guiding the students through the course and the world of architecture. For Intro to Design (1&2) I helped the instructor with the classes, teaching students the basics of architecture modeling and the drawing techniques.
