The first stage of the Joseph Walsh Studio Masterplan, the Courtyard Workshops are located to the east of the existing studio building, and surround an historic thatched cottage that was the original farmhouse of the Walsh family farm. The new buildings respond directly to the character of this historic context, with the scale and proportions of the farmhouse providing the basis for the design, ensuring a sensitivity and appropriateness to the setting.
