LAVO, a restaurant and nightclub brand by the owners of TAO is making its New York debut. The ICRAVE-designed space departs from the over-the-top Vegas aesthetic to create a restaurant that looks like it has been in this location over one hundred years – a remnant of industrial age New York.

By using reclaimed subway tiles, antiqued mirror and vintage light fixtures, the space has the feel and ease of a classic European bistro. The addition of patterned tile work, rich woods, and striped coffee colored leathers give it an Italian edge. Whether having an aperitif in the mirror clad front bar or taking in the room from the sunken corner banquettes, the space feels like it is part of New York’s history.

The lower-level nightclub space takes cues from the vintage atmosphere of the restaurant with a modern twist. Flashy beveled mirror bars and a bronze padded VIP area allow guests to feel like they are living it up in a lounge from a bygone era. But a state-of-the-art custom-engineered sound system and a light show infused into the oversized lamp shades and custom shaped mirror bar over the dance floor is reminiscent of a European nightclub.
