Built is now well underway with the construction of stage 1 at Wearne Cottesloe, which will see the heritage site redeveloped into a landmark aged care and residential development for the Perth community.

As senior living communities return to a new normal, the post-pandemic design will see 20 deluxe retirement residences developed at Waterfront Cottesloe along with a 128-bed state of the art Residential Aged care facility.

The subsequent stage will soon bring an additional 56 retirement units along with a range of amenities for the wider community, including a café, art precinct, medical centre, and community meeting amenities.

With the challenges of COVID-19 amplified for senior living communities, the age-friendly community in Cottesloe aims to revolutionise post-Covid elderly care – offering a new gold standard with residences of exceptional quality in a world-class setting.

The design of Wearne plays an essential role in maintaining a focus on seniors and their well-being as we endure and emerge from the current pandemic. We believe this design enables quality of care and flexibility to keep residents and caregivers safe while balancing design solutions that protect and promote the social and mental wellness of residents and staff.

Hames Sharley has completed the documentation for the current stage of the Wearne redevelopment and will shortly begin working with Curtin Heritage Living and Total Project Management (WA) on the next and final stage of the project, continuing to develop the Concept and Master Plan prepared by Grounds Kent Architects for the redevelopment.
