I am a recent graduate from The University of Pennsylvania with a Master's degree in Science in Design- Advanced Architectural Design, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Pratt Institute. I participated in several architectural internships throughout my education and have gained the necessary skills to be a successful designer.
In my past internship experiences, I worked on a wide variety of projects, from presentation and research to publications and architectural work. In my most recent internship in Taiwan with Bio- Architecture Formosana, the New Taipei City government tasked us with designing an eSports arena in New Taipei Tower in Sanchong Public Market. Since both the firm and city government had no experience in designing eSports arenas, I took the opportunity and worked on both the research and schematic design of the project. I researched everything about eSports and eSport arenas from the ground up, gathered all of my research for the clients and the firm, and used the knowledge I have from the research to design the programmatic layout of New Taipei Tower. We had three meetings with our clients each week, and I was always able to compile and deliver new research and designs into presentations in a timely manner.
Furthermore, I had a strong interest in emerging architectural technologies and applications. I conducted research in Prof. Ezio Blasetti’s robotic and material research course that prepared an exhibition in The Venice Biennale. Our research explored different applications of carbon fiber weaving with robotic arms, which I constructed the jig for my project, and was able to revise new plans whenever we encountered new roadblocks while I oversaw the robotic weaving process. Although the research was halted for a while, and the exhibition was canceled due to the pandemic, I was still able to complete the research successfully in such challenging conditions.

The purpose of the MSD-AAD is four-fold: 1) To prepare students for high-level contemporary design research in the profession or academy 2) To develop skills in emerging design techniques and cross-disciplinary tools 3) To foster critical engagement with technology in conversation with contemporary architectural discourse and theory 4) To integrate advanced digital modeling techniques in a design methodology that has a direct bearing on material production, fabrication, and construction processes and aesthetics.
Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY, US, BArch, Architecture
The five-year design sequence offers a thorough foundation in architecture integrating critical thinking, design, technology, building, representation, sustainability, and social responsibility. Firmly committed to contemporary material practices, the program is constantly integrating new technologies into the curriculum. Students are encouraged to aspire towards creative and intellectual independence as well as to commit to authentically inspired architectural research. Students at Pratt learn that architecture is a meaningful cultural contribution dedicated to the sustenance of the imagination and the necessity for material embodiment within a larger social, cultural, environmental, and ethical context.
