The municipality of Termini Imerese, near Palermo, IT, made a call for a new fountain in its most representative Piazza. Currently used as parking for the adjacent city hall, the piazza itself needed wider remodelling. Our project aimed to reactivate the flow of people and activities on the areas bordering the square, through the redesign of the paving and the insertion of a system of fountains, believing strongly in the ability of architecture to succeed by defining new spatiality, our proposal aims to restore the traditional uses of a piazza, but also to establish new behaviour, by allowing for complete flexibility. Regarding the vegetation we kept the existing trees improving only the flower beds and designing benches that interacts in different ways with these green spaces.
