About

Before I consider myself an architect, I consider myself a global student. Since I decided to follow my path in this profession, I have known that, in order to be able to design for people, I should get to know all the different contexts existents and study them carefully. Cultures and projects have different scenarios according to its location and I have been always interested in discovering them.

I started my personal and professional career when I decided to leave home, in the countryside of Rio de Janeiro, at the age of seventeen and moved to the capital by myself so I could finish my senior year in a more challenging school. I wanted to be able to get a scholarship in the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, where their humanistic architectural program was what I was looking for. That was the first career goal I achieved. In August 2013 I received my 5-year bachelor degree in Architecture and Urbanism there.

During my period in Brazil, I started my career at Sá Cavalcante builder and developer, where I took my major and last internship at; I was promoted to junior architect due to my great performance. There I learned important leadership skills within the corporate system. I was the main responsible for Rio Poty and Dutra malls architecture’s design, in the north area of the country.

In addition to these large-scale architectural projects and team leadership, I had extensive experience in project management on my second full time job as an architect at Spazio Associates. There I worked with the management of hotels, commercial, retail and interior design projects during the year of the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro. Specification and purchasing were the main tasks and helped me to experience a more analytical and financial aspect of the profession.

My whole academic and professional background has been influenced by learning from different locations, in a deeper and closer approach of interaction. So, I decided to take the next step in my career and moved to Milan, Italy, in 2017 for a Master degree program in Architecture and Urban Design at Politecnico di Milano, as I was able to get as well a scholarship. Living in Italy and specifically Milan has been a dream. Since it is one of the most influent cities for architecture,  I got to attend studio classes with Stefano Boeri, Cino Zucchi  and be in contact with Renzo Piano and all the international major architects that always come to give lectures during Architecture Week.

For my Master’s thesis subject I decided to do an urban and architectural restoration project in Roosevelt Island, New York to help me gain an extra knowledge on environmentally, energy conscious, socio-cultural architecture in a different context of learning: United States. The gain of different kinds of experiences was always a motor for my educational and professional career, as it helps me to develop my personal skills as a global and diversified architect.

On the 24th of july I will be defending my thesis and receiving my Master of Science degree from Politecnico di Milano, summing up seven years of architectural education.

After my new title, my next goal is to start working in a different scenario and continue to absorb knowledge in different fields of interventions, as I truly believe that the diversity of our global world enriches my architectural vision.
