My name is Federica Giannini, an italian engineer graduated at the faculty of Architecture and Construction Engineering at the University of Rome, Tor Vergata.

During my university career, I developed a passion for design and architecture and used my gifts as a fast learner to develop the necessary software skills, hand drawing and physical model production to help me work through the design process. In addition, I got out of my comfort zone and improved my communication skills in English during the year spent in Finland with the Erasmus program. At the same time, through Nordic architecture, I was introduced to the topic of sustainability which became very close to my heart.
After the five-year architecture and construction engineering degree obtained with top grades, I’ve been working at fAbricA Studio Associato, where everyday I have the opportunity to approach both the architectural and engineering aspects of structures, often belonging to important and renowned buildings and therefore with the need for special attention to details. I currently take care of Autocad drafts, site visits, costs estimates, documents sheets along with participating in the design process.

This job has allowed me to show that I always put the utmost commitment, enthusiasm and responsibility into fulfilling my tasks. I know how to organize myself to be flexible and resourceful to complete the job on time. I enjoy working as a part of a team because it always amazes me how much I can learn through dialogues between different perspectives, allowing alternative solutions to be found.
The themes I feel most devoted to are social and environmental sustainability, firmly believing that the human race is just one of the many species that populate the earth and that therefore we should design our buildings in respect of it. Architects have the responsibility of shaping cities for tomorrow’s society, achievable by challenging themselves to maximize buildings performances through design.

I’m ready to challenge myself and I’m seeking to learn and improve my skills hoping to prove I can be a worthy asset for a fruitful dialogue of ideas.
