As part of the firm’s annual charitable contributions, Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA) has presented Friends of Fairview South in Milwaukee and Briarpatch Youth Services in Madison with a grant of $15,000 payable over a three-year period. Food for Thought in Denver was chosen as a one-time grant recipient for $25,000.

The Eppstein Uhen Foundation’s mission is to improve the lives of people in the communities where we live and work. To provide help where it is needed most with an emphasis on our youth, developing the skills or experiences that foster long-term growth beyond the life of the help given.

MILWAUKEE – Designed to meet the needs of students with mild to severe cognitive disabilities, Fairview South School (FVS) focuses on personalized learning to meet each individual’s abilities and strengths. Friends of Fairview South supports FVS through raising community awareness, supplementing current funding needs and pursuing solutions to the long-term facility needs of the school.

MADISON – Briarpatch Youth Services was formed in 2003 and provides services dedicated to strengthening and improving the lives of youth, their families and the community. Working closely with local governments and other non-profit organizations, Briarpatch provides unique programs that fill service gaps and provide youth with the support they need to succeed. Each year, Briarpatch serves approximately 3,000 runaway, homeless and at-risk youth in Dane County.

DENVER – Since 2012, Food for Thought has strived to eliminate weekend hunger for children in the Denver area by providing food PowerSacks, each containing 9-13 items, enough to feed a family of four, two meals. Currently supporting 20 schools, Food for Thought has delivered more than 250 tons of food.

In the coming weeks, the Eppstein Uhen Foundation looks forward to announcing two charities in Milwaukee and Madison that will be sponsored in this year’s 14th annual Beyond Design Bike Tour
